 The first experince I had with distance learning was during Covid. We would have the occasional zoom call and a few assignments posted on google classroom. The work wasn't very hard for me to keep up with but I also don't think that I learned very much during that time. However, that was everyone's first time being forced to switch to online learning and it was a big adjustment for everyone. A technology that I never used but would like to try is Flipgrid. I think that it is a very interesting concept and a creative way to learn.

Open educational resources are educational resources that can be used and shared by anyone. The link below is an article from the University of Florida about open educational resources. The website starts by describing what a OER is. It then gives examples of OERs such as textbooks, streaming videos, podcasts, and curriculum maps. The website also offers information on how to find more OERs and how to create one.

Prior to this I have only really used google slides, but this assignment taught me how to use power point which will be very helpful for when I become a teacher. I learned lots of things about power point such as how to put alt text on a picture and how to add a voice over. The most difficult part was definitely adding the voice over to the presentation. It took me a while to figure out how to save the audio and I had to redo it a few times. However, I still think that this is an important skill to learn and I don't think that it should be taken out of the assignment. I now know how to do it and it will be a very helpful skill if I ever need to give a virtual lesson.

     My name is Jocelyn Starling and I hoping to be a first grade teacher one day. I am taking this class so that I can learn about technology that might help me in my future career. I am hoping to learn about resources that will make my job easier as well as resources that will make my futures lessons more interactive and engaging. For this assignment I analyzed my high school's website. The website is very organized and offers a lot of very helpful information about the school. The website has everything from upcoming dates, to school policies, to study materials. The only thing that I could find that had anything to do with teachers was the staff directory. However, all that is in the directory is a picture of each staff member and their email. This is very helpful for students and parents who might need to get in contact with a staff member. https://www.pcsb.org/stpete-hs I currently use google calendar to keep track of all of my assignments and due dates. I will continue to use this as a teacher to stay organized and on top of all of my important dates. I learned so many new things from the website design assignment that I am very excited to use when I become a teacher. I used quite a few design principles when I was creating my website. I used contrast throughout my website by putting light colored words on a dark colored background. I also used repetition by using the same fonts throughout the website. I liked how easy weebly was to use, but I feel like there were a lot of things I wanted to add to my website that weebly didn't offer or I couldn't figure out how to do it.  https://msstarlingsfirstgradeclass.weebly.com/ I think that QR codes are very easy to use and I would love to incorporate them in my future classroom. When I have stations set up I could use QR codes that have instructions for each station. When I display art around my room I can put QR codes on each piece of art to say who made it.
